Karian Cross is a competitive falling-block puzzle game released for arcades in 1996 by South Korean developer Deniam Corp. Set in a medieval fantasy world, it plays similarly to Puyo Puyo or Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. Players choose unique characters and must match three or more identical blocks to clear them from their well. Clearing blocks sends “junk” over to the opponent's screen, with each character featuring their own distinct block shapes and attack patterns.
How to Play
The objective is to fill your opponent's well with blocks before yours overflows. Match three or more blocks of the same color to clear them. You will also encounter transparent “junk blocks” sent by your opponent, which can only be removed by clearing adjacent normal blocks. By default, use Shift or 5 to insert a coin, Enter or 1 to start, the Arrow Keys to move your pieces, and Z / X to rotate them.
Tips
- Focus on building chain reactions. Clearing multiple groups of blocks in a single sequence sends significantly more junk to your opponent.
- Learn your character's attack pattern. Since each character sends junk blocks in a specific shape, choosing one that matches your playstyle can give you a strong competitive edge.
