Kaiketsu Yanchamaru is a colorful side-scrolling action platformer released for arcades in 1986. Developed by Irem, this title is famously known in the West as Kid Niki: Radical Ninja. You take on the role of a young ninja armed with a spinning sword, battling through vibrant stages filled with quirky enemies and challenging bosses to rescue a kidnapped princess.
How to Play
Progress through the side-scrolling levels by defeating enemies with your spinning sword and navigating tricky platforming sections. Watch out for unique bosses at the end of each stage. By default, use the Arrow Keys for movement, Z to jump, and X to attack. Since this is an arcade game, you will need to insert virtual coins by pressing Shift, and press Enter to start.
Tips
- Your spinning sword attack has a slightly delayed arc, so try to swing right before an enemy enters your striking range.
- Learn the patterns of the stage bosses; many of them have distinct projectiles that can be jumped over or deflected with precise timing.
