Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 2: Karakuri Land (also known as Kid Niki 2) is a side-scrolling action-platformer developed by Irem for the NES in 1991. Players return as the young ninja Yanchamaru, using his signature spinning sword to fight through mechanical hazards and rescue the princess. This version features a full English fan translation.

How to Play

Navigate through each stage, defeating enemies and avoiding obstacles to reach the end-of-level boss. On the NES, use the D-pad to move and crouch, the A button to jump, and the B button to attack. (In the browser, these map to the arrow keys, X, and Z respectively, with Enter for Start).

Tips

• Your spinning sword doesn’t just deal damage—it can also be used to block and reflect certain incoming projectiles.
• Learn the reach of your weapon. The spin animation hits slightly further than it appears, letting you dispatch foes from a safe distance before they can strike.
