Developed by Ocean Software and released in 1993, this top-down action-adventure brings the blockbuster movie to the NES. Playing as Dr. Alan Grant, you are tasked with exploring the massive open map of Isla Nublar to rescue Lex and Tim, secure the park’s computer systems, and ultimately call for a helicopter rescue while fending off raptors, compys, and the towering T-Rex.
How to Play
Your objective is to complete a series of missions, such as rescuing the children and activating terminals, to escape the island. The standard NES controls apply: use the D-pad to move, A and B for action and jumping, Start to pause or view your inventory, and Select to switch weapons. In the browser, these are mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys, Z/X, Enter, and Shift.
Tips
- Ammo is limited and dinosaurs respawn when you leave an area, so try to avoid combat when possible to conserve your heavier weapons.
- You will need to collect ID cards scattered across the park to access computer terminals and open locked gates.
- This game has no save battery or password system, meaning you must complete the entire adventure in a single playthrough.
