Game description:

Heiwa Pachinko World 64 is a Japan-only pachinko simulation released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997, developed by Shouei System and published by Amtex. Rather than an arcade or platforming game, it faithfully recreates the pachinko parlor experience: players launch small steel balls into a vertical pinball-style machine and collect prizes based on where those balls fall, across a selection of different themed machines.

How to play

The goal on each machine is to land balls in the scoring pockets to trigger jackpots and keep winning more balls, just as at a real pachinko parlor. The game offers three modes: Training Mode, which starts you with 500,000 yen and doubles the real machine’s jackpot probability so you can learn a machine’s patterns; Battle Mode, which starts with 100,000 yen at standard odds for a truer challenge; and Study Mode, where you can review a machine’s rules, data, and “Super Reach” patterns without wagering anything.

Tips

  • Check Study Mode first — it lets you review a machine’s rules and Super Reach patterns before you risk any balls in Training or Battle Mode.
  • Training Mode’s jackpot odds are double the real machine’s, so it’s the better place to learn a new machine’s rhythm before moving to Battle Mode’s standard odds.
  • Since scoring depends on exactly where the ball lands among the pins, small adjustments to your launch power matter — ease off until you find a strength that keeps feeding balls toward the scoring pocket.
