Developed by Irem and released to arcades in 1990, this classic action platformer puts you in the shoes of a fiercely loyal carpenter named Harry. When a corrupt construction company called the Rusty Nailers demolishes his home, Harry sets out for revenge armed with nothing but his trusty giant mallet. The game stands out for its vibrant anime-inspired pixel art and the satisfying mechanics of using a massive hammer to both smash enemies and deflect incoming projectiles.
How to Play
Your goal is to guide Harry through various stages packed with aggressive rival workers, navigating platforming hazards and defeating bosses. Since this is an arcade title, use Shift or Enter to insert coins and start. Move using the Arrow keys, press Z to swing your mallet, and press X to jump. You can also hold the attack button to use your hammer as a makeshift shield against flying debris or jump and strike downwards to perform a heavy slam attack.
Tips
- Your hammer can block most forward-facing projectiles automatically when you hold the attack button, which is essential for surviving areas with multiple hard-hat enemies throwing objects at you.
- Hitting the ground with your mallet stuns nearby enemies for a brief moment, giving you vital crowd control when overwhelmed.
- Be on the lookout for hidden power-ups inside wooden crates; the oversized hammer upgrade significantly extends your attack range and damage.
