Developed by Konami in 1983, Gyruss is an action-packed shooter for the NES that turns traditional arcade mechanics on their head. Rather than moving side-to-side, you pilot your spaceship in a 360-degree path around the edge of the screen, firing inward at alien formations as you travel through the solar system toward Earth. The game is highly regarded for its frantic tube-shooter action and a memorable chiptune soundtrack.
How to play
Your goal is to survive the journey from Neptune to Earth by clearing out waves of enemies and defeating the bosses that guard each planet. You move your ship clockwise or counterclockwise along the perimeter to dodge attacks while firing into the center.

Tips
- Keep moving: Enemies often aim directly at your current position. Constantly shifting around the circle makes you much harder to hit.
- Upgrade your ship: Focus on destroying the specific enemy satellites to grab the double-ship power-up. Doubling your firepower is essential for handling the faster waves later in the game.
