Grobda is a fast-paced arena shooter released for the arcade in 1984 by Namco. Originally appearing as an enemy in the classic shoot ’em up Xevious, the Grobda tank takes center stage in this spin-off. Players are dropped into enclosed arenas where they must battle increasingly difficult waves of enemy vehicles to clear each round.
The objective is to destroy all enemy forces in the arena to advance. To play in the browser, insert a coin with Shift (or 5) and press Enter (or 1) to start. Use the Arrow Keys to maneuver your tank, press Z to fire your weapon, and press X to deploy a temporary energy shield to protect against incoming attacks.
When an enemy tank is destroyed, it triggers a powerful explosion that can destroy other nearby enemies. Try to herd enemies together and use these chain reactions to clear the arena quickly. Be careful, as your own tank can also be destroyed if caught in an enemy’s blast radius.
