Fighting Road is a one-on-one martial arts fighting game developed by Thinking Rabbit and published by Toei Animation for the NES in 1988. Released exclusively in Japan, it challenges you to guide a nameless martial artist along a grueling path to become a grand master by defeating increasingly difficult opponents in a series of non-scrolling matches.
How to Play
In your browser, use the Arrow Keys to move your fighter, jump, and crouch. Press Z and X (mapped to the NES A and B buttons) to perform punches, kicks, and advanced techniques like leg sweeps and flying kicks. Use Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Watch your stamina: Executing advanced special moves consumes your stamina bar. If it depletes, you will be left completely vulnerable.
- Preserve your health: Unlike many fighting games, your health does not replenish between rounds. Focus on dodging and blocking rather than trading blows.
- Unleash the fireball: Taking damage from your opponent fills a special meter. Once this meter is completely full, you can unleash a devastating fireball attack to turn the tide.
