Game description:

FIFA 99 is a football (soccer) simulation developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 as part of the long-running FIFA series. It built on the previous year’s game with new slide shots, semi-automatic goalkeepers, and extra dribbling and tackling moves, plus basic facial animation and varied player heights that gave the rosters more visual individuality. Alongside the usual club and international competitions, its headline addition was the European Dream League, letting you build a squad from twenty of the continent’s top clubs.

How to Play

The objective is standard football: outscore your opponent within a match, whether you’re playing a quick friendly, a full league season, or the new European Dream League. In the browser, the game uses the site’s standard Nintendo 64 control mapping:

  • Arrow keys — Control Stick (move / navigate)
  • Z — A button
  • X — B button
  • Shift — C buttons / Z trigger
  • Enter — Start
