Fatal Fury brings SNK’s iconic arcade fighting game to the SNES. Ported in 1993 by Takara, this foundational 2D fighter introduces players to South Town and the King of Fighters tournament. You take control of one of three martial artistsโTerry Bogard, Andy Bogard, or Joe Higashiโeach with their own unique fighting style, on a quest to defeat the ruthless crime boss Geese Howard.
How to Play
As a traditional fighting game, your goal is to deplete your opponent’s health bar by landing strikes and special moves. Use the D-pad to move, jump, block (by holding away from your opponent), and crouch. The SNES controller face buttons are used for light and heavy punches and kicks. Fatal Fury features a unique dual-plane fighting system; you can dodge attacks by moving between the foreground and background lanes during combat.
Tips
- Special moves require precise directional inputs followed by an attack button; for example, Terry’s Power Wave is performed by rolling the D-pad down, down-forward, forward, then pressing punch.
- Master the dual-plane system to avoid incoming projectiles and quickly counterattack while your opponent is left vulnerable.
