Dragon Warrior III is a seminal 1988 role-playing game developed by Chunsoft and Enix for the NES. As the child of the legendary hero Ortega, you are tasked with assembling a party of adventurers to defeat the archfiend Baramos and save the world from darkness.
How to play
Before setting out, recruit a party of up to three companions at Patty’s Party Planning Place, choosing from classes like Soldier, Fighter, Pilgrim, and Wizard. Navigate the world map, explore dungeons, and fight turn-based battles to gain experience and gold. Control your character and menus using the arrow keys. Press X (A button) to confirm actions, Z (B button) to cancel, and Enter (Start) or Shift (Select) for game menus.
Tips
- A balanced party is crucial for survival; a mix of physical attackers (Soldier or Fighter) and magic users (Pilgrim for healing, Wizard for offense) is highly recommended.
- Once a character reaches level 20, they can change their class at the Temple of Dharma. This resets their level to 1 but they retain half of their stats and all learned spells, allowing you to build incredibly versatile hybrid characters.
