Disco No 1 is a roller-rink action game released for the arcade in 1982 by Data East on the DECO Cassette System. Playing much like a free-roaming Qix, you take control of a skater out to win the attention of the dancers on the floor. As you skate, you leave a tracer line behind you, using it to encircle the tough guys patrolling the rink to capture them for points and clear the stage.
How to Play
Insert a coin with the 5 key and press 1 to start. Use the arrow keys to skate around the disco rink. Your goal is to draw closed loops around the enemies to capture them without letting them touch you or your tracer line before the loop is complete. Collect bonus items that appear on the rink to boost your score.
Tips
- Watch your tail: Enemies can break your tracer line if they touch it while you are drawing, so keep your loops tight and don’t overextend.
- Corner traps: Try to lure the tough guys toward the edges of the rink, making it easier to box them in with a quick loop.
