Digger is a classic arcade-style action game developed by Windmill Software for DOS in 1983. Heavily inspired by arcade hits like Dig Dug and Mr. Do!, you control a small excavation vehicle digging through underground tunnels to collect emeralds while avoiding pursuing monsters.
How to Play
Use the arrow keys to steer the Digger. The objective is to collect every emerald on the level to advance. You are chased by enemies known as Nobbins and Hobbins. To survive, you can dig under heavy bags of gold to drop them onto your pursuers, or use a limited fireball attack (press F1) to shoot them. Grabbing the bonus cherry temporarily grants you the ability to chase and eat the monsters.
Tips
- Wait for a bag of gold to fall and smash open before collecting the coins inside for a score boost.
- Your fireball takes time to recharge after being fired. Save it for emergencies when you are cornered.
- Creating long vertical shafts makes it easier to lure enemies under a gold bag and crush several at once.
