Game description:

Daiva: Imperial of Nirsartia (Daiva Story 6) is a unique blend of grand strategy and side-scrolling action released for the NES in 1986. Developed by T&E Soft and published by Toshiba EMI, this sci-fi epic tasks you with managing star fleets to conquer planets across the galaxy. Once a fleet reaches an enemy world, the game shifts to a challenging side-scrolling action sequence where you pilot a mobile mecha to secure the planet’s surface.

How to Play

The game is split into two phases: a strategic map where you maneuver fleets and manage resources, and an action phase. In the action segments, use the D-Pad to move your mecha and aim, A to jump, and B to fire your weapon. You will need to carefully balance your fleet movements to defend your own planets while expanding your empire.

Tips

  • Master the arc trajectory: Your mecha’s default weapon fires in an arc. Practice timing your shots and adjusting your distance to reliably hit enemy turrets and mobile units.
  • Don’t neglect defense: While it is tempting to send all your fleets out to conquer new planets, leaving your home worlds undefended will lead to quick defeats by enemy counter-attacks.
