Cross Pang is a fast-paced tile-matching puzzle game developed by F2 System and released in arcades in 1998. Also known as Toads’ Raid in some regions, it sets itself apart from traditional falling-block puzzles by spawning its pieces randomly on the board rather than dropping them from the top. As the screen fills up, players must strategically select and place these colored beads to clear the grid before time runs out.
How to Play
The objective is to group four or more beads of the same color together to make them disappear. Use the arrow keys (mapping to the arcade joystick) to move your cursor across the grid. Press the Z or X keys to select a spawned piece and place it in your desired location. You can also trigger special power-ups like bombs or paint using your action buttons to clear out clustered beads or change their colors.
Tips
Pay close attention to power-up items like the skull, lightning, and dynamite that appear on the boardโdynamite is especially useful for clearing large chunks of the screen when things get crowded. Since new pieces spawn faster as the game progresses, try to plan your placements ahead rather than just reacting to where the beads appear.
