Chip ‘n Dale – Rescue Rangers 2 is a cooperative platformer developed by Capcom and released for the NES in 1994. Arriving late in the console’s life cycle, this sequel retains the tight, crate-tossing gameplay of the original while sending the rescue rangers after their nemesis Fat Cat, who has escaped from prison to steal the fabled Urn of the Pharaoh. You can play solo or team up in two-player co-op, navigating stages filled with robotic enemies and environmental hazards.
How to Play
The objective is to reach the end of each stage and defeat the boss by throwing crates, items, or even your partner. The default NES controls in the browser are mapped as follows:
- Arrow Keys: Move and duck
- Z Key: Pick up objects, throw, and run
- X Key: Jump
- Enter: Start
Tips
- The Super Throw: If you pick up a crate or your partner and start running, it will flash. Throwing it in this state unleashes a super attack that deals extra damage, which is incredibly effective against bosses.
- Friendly Fire: In two-player mode, you can use your partner as a weapon by picking them up and throwing them at enemies. Just make sure you don’t accidentally toss them into a bottomless pit!
- Stun Bosses: Most bosses have brief periods of invulnerability after taking a hit. Time your throws carefully rather than rapidly throwing crates.
