Released in 1991 for the NES, Championship Bowling (Japan) is a 10-pin bowling simulation. Players choose a bowler, adjust their starting position on the lane, and use timing-based power and spin meters to bowl strikes and spares.
How to Play
Your goal is to knock down as many pins as possible across 10 frames to achieve a high score.
- D-pad (Arrow keys): Position your bowler on the lane and adjust your aim.
- A / B buttons (Z / X): Start the throw, stop the power and spin meters, and make menu selections.
- Start / Select (Enter / Shift): Pause the game or confirm options.
Tips
- Mastering the timing meters is the key to consistency. Practice stopping the power and spin bars at the exact same point to reliably hit the pocket.
- Aiming slightly off-center and applying a hook into the front pins will give you the best chance of scoring a strike.
