Game description:

Castlevania arrived on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, bringing Konami’s legendary action-adventure series into full 3D for the first time. Taking on the roles of either the whip-wielding Reinhardt Schneider or the magically gifted Carrie Fernandez, players explore a massive, trap-filled incarnation of Dracula’s castle. The shift to 3D introduced platforming challenges over bottomless pits, survival-horror elements with limited save points, and a day-and-night cycle that directly alters events and enemy spawns depending on the time.

How to Play

Your objective is to navigate the treacherous environments of the castle, defeat the bosses guarding each section, and ultimately vanquish Dracula. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys to move your character. Press X to jump, C to attack with your primary weapon, and Z to crouch or interact. Enter pauses the game and opens your inventory.

Tips

  • Carrie’s homing energy orbs make dealing with fast or flying enemies much easier than Reinhardt’s whip, making her a great choice for a first playthrough.
  • Don’t spend more than 30,000 gold when purchasing items from Renon the merchant; exceeding this amount will force you into a tough hidden boss battle against him later.
  • Keep a few Sun and Moon cards in your inventory to manually shift the time of day, which is often required to unlock specific sealed doors without waiting in real time.
