Bobble Bobble is a widely distributed 1986 arcade bootleg of Taito’s iconic classic Bubble Bobble. You play as the twin bubble dragons, Bub and Bob, navigating 100 single-screen platforming stages to rescue your girlfriends. The game plays identically to the original hit, challenging you to trap enemies in bubbles and pop them to clear the stage and spawn bonus fruit.

How to Play

The goal of each level is to defeat every enemy on the screen. Use the arrow keys to move left and right. Press Z to blow bubbles to trap enemies, and X to jump. Once an enemy is caught in a bubble, jump on it or push it into a wall to pop it. If you take too long to clear a stage, a “Hurry Up!” warning will appear, and the invincible Baron von Blubba will chase you down.

Tips

• You can bounce on your own bubbles by holding the jump button down as you land on them, allowing you to reach higher areas.
• If you trap multiple enemies in bubbles and pop them all at once, you will earn significantly more points and spawn better food items.
• Water bubbles, lightning bubbles, and fire bubbles occasionally appear—pop them to unleash elements across the screen to quickly clear out enemies.
