Bio Ship Paladin (also known as Space Battleship Gomora) is a horizontal scrolling shoot ’em up released for the Arcade by UPL in 1990. Instead of just firing straight ahead like most games in the genre, you control a heavily armed battleship equipped with an innovative manual crosshair system, allowing you to target enemies anywhere on the screen.
How to Play
Your objective is to pilot the bio-ship through hostile alien environments, destroying enemy fleets and massive bosses. The game uses standard arcade controls: use the arrow keys to move your ship. The primary action button (usually Z or X) fires your standard forward weapons, while the secondary button lets you manipulate and fire your crosshair weapon to take out enemies at awkward angles.
Tips
- Master the Crosshair: Your standard forward guns won’t be enough for enemies approaching from behind or below. Keep your crosshair active to defend your flanks.
- Size Matters: Your battleship is larger than typical shmup fighters, making your hitbox a significant target. Prioritise evasive maneuvers over reckless attacks.
