Released for the Game Boy in 1990 by SETA Corporation, Battle Bull is a top-down action-puzzle game where you pilot an excavation vehicle through 48 maze-like levels. Tasked with clearing out rogue mining robots, you must strategically push movable stones and blocks to crush your enemies. Earning money from successful stages allows you to purchase crucial upgrades between levels, adding surprising depth to the grid-based arcade action.
How to Play
Your objective is to defeat a specific quota of enemy vehicles before the time limit expires. Navigate your bulldozer using the D-pad (Arrow Keys in the browser), and press the A or B buttons (Z or X) to push blocks into enemies or use secondary weapons. Use Start and Select (Enter and Shift) to pause the game or navigate menus. Between stages, spend your earned cash to upgrade your engine speed, shovel strength, or extra lives.
Tips
- Upgrade your engine: Increasing your speed early on makes it much easier to outmaneuver faster enemies and set up block traps without being caught.
- Funnel your enemies: Lure rogue robots into narrow corridors where a single pushed stone can crush multiple targets at once, saving time and maximizing your payout.
