Battlantis (Program Code F) is an alternate ROM revision of Konami’s 1987 arcade fixed shooter Battlantis. You play Cripeuss III, defending a castle from Asmodeus and his invading horde of monsters in a game that plays like a cross between Space Invaders and Galaga: enemies march down in formation, some breaking off to charge, while destructible barricades on the battlements offer cover you can just as easily blast away by accident.
How to Play
Move left and right along the base of the screen and fire upward at the approaching monsters. Cripeuss’s default weapon is a slow double-barreled shotgun that only shoots straight up, so timed power-ups matter: grab a crossbow, bottle bombs, a speed boost, or brief invincibility, but expect them to wear off after a few seconds rather than sticking around for the rest of the life. Any monster that reaches the bottom can climb the battlements and attack from the side, so don’t let the formation get too close.
- Arrow keys – move left / right
- Z – shoot
- Shift – insert coin
- Enter – start
Tips
- You can’t hold the fire button for continuous shots, so tap it in rhythm with the descending enemies rather than mashing.
- Power-ups are worth grabbing even mid-fight since they only last seconds — don’t wait for a safer moment that may not come.
- Keep an eye on the sides of the screen, not just straight ahead: climbing enemies attack from angles your default shot can’t cover.
