Bal Cube is a unique spin on the classic block-breaking formula, released by Metro in 1996 for the arcade. Instead of sliding a paddle to deflect a ball, you directly control the “ball” itself—a spinning blue cube—using the joystick to steer its momentum. The objective is to shatter formations of advancing blocks before they reach the bottom of the screen. You must bounce off a row of trampolines below to line up precision strikes, grabbing power-ups that can shrink your cube or clear the screen.

How to Play

Your goal is to smash the descending blocks and survive the stage without letting the cube fall through the gaps at the bottom. Use the arrow keys to guide the cube’s trajectory mid-air. Insert coins with Shift and press Enter to start. Action buttons (Z and X) are used for selections and abilities.

Tips

• Master mid-air steering: The cube’s maneuverability is your greatest advantage. Gently guide it into clusters of blocks rather than relying purely on the bounce angle.
• Watch the floor: The trampolines at the bottom of the screen can change or disappear. Always keep an eye on your landing spots so you don’t unexpectedly drop a life.
