Arkanoid is a classic sci-fi take on the block-breaking formula for the NES. Controlling the Vaus space vessel, you must clear level after level of colourful block formations while keeping your energy ball in play. What sets this arcade port apart are the alien enemies that float down to interfere with your shots, alongside a variety of falling capsule power-ups that dramatically change how you play.
How to Play
Use the Left and Right arrow keys to slide your paddle back and forth across the bottom of the screen. Press the Z or X key to launch the ball at the start of a round, or to fire if you have collected the Laser power-up. Press Enter to start the game.
Tips
Pay attention to the colours of the power-up capsules: light blue (‘E’) extends your paddle, green (‘C’) lets you catch the ball to carefully aim your next shot, and red (‘L’) equips you with twin lasers. When enemies are on screen, avoid placing your paddle directly beneath them, as they can unpredictably deflect the ball past your defences.
