Alien vs. Predator is a legendary 1994 side-scrolling beat ’em up developed by Capcom for the arcades. Based on the sci-fi crossover franchise, the game lets you take control of either human cyborg soldiers or powerful Predator warriors to battle hordes of xenomorphs invading Earth. Renowned for its massive character sprites, fluid combat, and deep movesets, it remains a high watermark for the arcade brawler genre.
How to Play
The objective is to fight your way through stages of alien enemies, defeating a boss at the end of each. You have a combination of melee attacks and a ranged weapon. Ranged weapons use an ammunition gauge that depletes upon firing and slowly recharges; if emptied completely, the weapon overheats and takes longer to recover.
Default Arcade Controls:
Move: Arrow Keys
Attack: Z
Jump: X
Shoot: C
Insert Coin: Shift
Start: Enter
Tips
– Manage your ammo: Don’t fire until your gauge is completely empty. Firing in short bursts prevents overheating and keeps your ranged attacks available when you need them most.
– Master the dash: Double-tap left or right to dash. Dashing attacks are powerful and great for crowd control or quickly closing the distance on dangerous enemies.
– Use desperation moves wisely: Pressing Attack and Jump together unleashes a powerful area-clearing move that makes you invincible, but costs a small amount of health if it connects with an enemy. Save it for when you are surrounded.
