Alien 3 is a 1992 action-platformer developed by Probe Software for the Nintendo Entertainment System, based on the sci-fi horror film of the same name. Controlling Ellen Ripley, players navigate the labyrinthine corridors and industrial ducts of the Fiorina 161 penal colony under strict time limits to rescue trapped prisoners before Xenomorphs take over the facility.
How to play
Each level requires you to locate and free every trapped prisoner scattered across a maze of ladders, shafts, and platforms before time expires. Ripley starts equipped with a motion tracker and an arsenal including a pulse rifle, flamethrower, grenade launcher, and hand grenades. Use your motion tracker to monitor nearby Alien activity and locate hostages, then head for the exit hatch once all prisoners in the area are secured.

- Cycle to the Motion Tracker using Shift (Select) to check for incoming Aliens before climbing long ladders or dropping down dark shafts.
- Save your grenade launcher and heavy explosives for tightly grouped Xenomorphs or boss encounters, relying on the pulse rifle and flamethrower for standard corridor defense.
