After Burst is an action-puzzle game released for the Game Boy in Japan on October 26, 1990, developed by Dual and published by NCS. Players pilot a combat robot across 30 single-screen stages, blasting hostile machines and working through short environmental puzzles to reach and destroy each level’s target orb, with a boss fight capping off every tenth stage.
How to Play
The goal on each screen is to clear the enemy robots and puzzle obstacles standing between your robot and the stage’s orb. Your weapon can be aimed at different angles, and holding the fire button down lengthens the shot’s range, so timing and angle matter more than just spraying gunfire. A two-player duel mode also lets you face off against a friend or the computer.
- Arrow keys â move your robot and aim the angle of your shot
- Z â fire (hold to extend shot distance)
- Enter â Start
- Shift â Select
