Magical Doropie (released in the West as The Krion Conquest) is a 1990 action-platformer developed by Vic Tokai for the NES. You control a young witch named Doropie, who uses her magic wand to battle a mechanical army led by the villainous Akudama Empire. Heavily inspired by the Mega Man series, this fully translated Japanese version preserves the original anime-style cutscenes and story sequences that were famously cut from the international release.
How to Play
Navigate side-scrolling stages, shoot robotic enemies, and defeat the boss at the end of each level. You can swap between different types of magicโincluding fire, freeze, and a flying broomโat any time.
- Move / Duck: Arrow Keys
- Jump: X
- Shoot / Charge Magic: Z
- Select Magic: Shift (Select)
- Pause / Start: Enter (Start)
Tips
- You have access to all of Doropie’s magic spells right from the beginning of the game. Use the broom magic to bypass difficult platforming sections.
- Hold down the shoot button to charge your wand, then release it to fire a powerful magical blast that deals heavy damage to bosses.
- If you are overwhelmed by enemy fire, switch to the shield magic to deflect incoming projectiles.
