Ball Bullet Gun is a tactical strategy RPG released exclusively in Japan for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1995 by I’MAX. Instead of traditional fantasy combat, the game simulates modern-day “survival games” like airsoft or paintball. You manage a squad of soldiers, customizing their stats before deploying them into turn-based combat across diverse missions that feature a fog of war system, capture the flag objectives, and hostage rescues.
How to Play
Your objective varies depending on the mission, ranging from capturing the enemy flag to eliminating all opposing team members. You must carefully manage your units’ Action Points (AP), which are required for moving, shooting, and reloading your weapons.
- D-pad (Arrow Keys): Move cursor or unit
- A Button (X Key): Confirm action / Attack
- B Button (Z Key): Cancel / Return to previous menu
- Start (Enter): Pause / Menu
- Select (Shift): Switch units
Tips
- Manage Action Points: Every action, including turning to face a new direction or reloading, costs AP. Always leave enough AP to seek cover after attacking.
- Use the Fog of War: Enemies are not visible until they are within your units’ line of sight. Move cautiously and use units with high search stats to scout ahead.
- Flank for Damage: Attacks from the sides or behind have a much higher chance of hitting and dealing critical damage.
