Thunder Fox is an action-packed run-and-gun arcade game originally developed by Taito and ported to the Sega Genesis in 1991. You take on the role of an elite anti-terrorism operative tasked with infiltrating and dismantling a heavily armed mercenary group. Unlike typical shooters, you rely heavily on close-quarters combat with your trusty combat knife, though you can commandeer enemy weapons like assault rifles, flamethrowers, and grenades along the way. It offers a fast-paced blend of platforming and hack-and-slash action.
How to Play
Your primary objective is to survive side-scrolling stages filled with enemy soldiers, vehicles, and bosses.
- Move: Arrow Keys
- Attack: Z (Uses your knife or currently held weapon)
- Jump: X
- Use Item/Grenade: C
- Start: Enter
Tips
- Your knife is incredibly fast and effective; don’t underestimate it in close combat, especially against standard soldiers.
- Save your heavy weapons and grenades for bosses or screens crowded with heavily armored enemies, as ammunition is strictly limited.
- You can attack while jumping or crouching, which is essential for dodging enemy fire while maintaining your offense.
