Metal Slug 3 (NGH-2560) (Enhanced Violence Version hack by EEZEZY) is a fan-made ROM hack of SNK’s classic 2000 Neo Geo run-and-gun Metal Slug 3, modified by a hacker known as EEZEZY to push the game’s blood and gore effects further than the original arcade release. Strip away the added violence and it’s still the same acclaimed side-scrolling shooter underneath: pick one of four Peregrine Falcon Squad soldiers — Marco Rossi, Tarma Roving, Eri Kasamoto, or Fio Germi — and fight your way through General Morden’s rebel army, mutant monsters, and an alien invasion across the series’ famous branching mission paths.
How to Play
Your objective is to shoot through waves of enemies, rescue captured POWs for bonus points and items, and reach each stage’s boss. In the browser, move with the Arrow Keys, shoot with Z, and jump with X — the two action buttons from the original Neo Geo cabinet. Hold Down and press Z to throw a grenade. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Save grenades for armor: tanks, cannons, and other armored enemies barely notice regular gunfire, but a couple of grenades will tear them apart quickly.
- Hop into captured vehicles whenever you can: tanks, camels, and other rideable slugs soak up extra hits before you’re forced to abandon them, giving you a buffer against enemy fire.
- Don’t panic if a trap transforms you: touching certain booby-trapped enemies mid-level turns your soldier into a mummy or other creature with a powerful melee attack — make the most of it before it wears off.
