Double Dragon II: The Revenge is a classic 1988 arcade beat ’em up developed by Technōs Japan. How to play
The objective is to fight your way through waves of gang members and defeat the boss at the end of each stage. A major change from the first game is the control scheme, which uses directional attack buttons instead of standard punch and kick.
- Arrow Keys: Move
- Z (Left Attack): Attack left. If facing left, throws punches; if facing right, throws a back kick.
- X (Jump): Jump
- C (Right Attack): Attack right. If facing right, throws punches; if facing left, throws a back kick.
- Enter / Shift: Start / Insert Coin
Tips
- The Hurricane Kick: Press jump and immediately press an attack button at the peak of your jump to execute the devastating spinning Hurricane Kick. It is essential for crowd control when surrounded by enemies.
- Use the Environment: Weapons dropped by enemies, such as steel pipes, whips, and throwing knives, deal massive damage. Knock enemies into pits or off ledges for instant defeats to save health.
- Watch Your Back: Because attacks are directional, always be aware of which way your character is facing. Use the back kick to quickly dispatch enemies trying to sneak up behind you.
