X-Men vs. Street Fighter is a classic 1996 2D fighting game developed by Capcom for the Arcade. As the first true crossover in Capcom’s Marvel series, it pits mutants like Wolverine and Magneto against martial artists like Ryu and Chun-Li in fast-paced, two-on-two tag-team combat.
How to Play
Select a team of two fighters and battle until both of the opposing characters’ health bars are depleted. You can tag your partner in at any time to regenerate their health or perform powerful dual-character combo attacks.
Default Controls: Use the Arrow Keys to move and jump. Press Z, X, C, A, S, and D for your light, medium, and heavy attacks (punches and kicks). Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to Start.
Tips
- Don’t forget to tag! If your character is low on health, tagging them out allows them to slowly recover their red life gauge while off-screen.
- Learn to launch your opponent. Most characters have a specific crouching heavy attack that knocks the opponent into the air, allowing you to follow up with an “Aerial Rave” combo.
- Coordinate your hyper combos. When you have two levels of your super meter filled, you can unleash a devastating Variable Combination where both of your characters attack simultaneously.
