WWF Raw (World) for the Sega Genesis is a classic 1994 professional wrestling game that brings the intensity of the World Wrestling Federation to 16-bit consoles. Developed by Sculptured Software, it builds on the mechanics introduced in WWF Royal Rumble, adding a larger roster, new arenas, and the over-the-top “Megamoves” that let players perform spectacular finishers. Whether competing in a standard one-on-one bout, teaming up in a tag match, or surviving the chaotic Royal Rumble mode, the game delivers fast-paced, arcade-style grappling action featuring iconic 90s wrestling superstars.
How to Play
The objective is to wear down your opponent’s stamina meter and win via pinfall or submission. The default Sega Genesis web emulator maps the controls to your keyboard: use the Arrow keys to move, Enter for Start, and A, S, D (or Z, X, C) for the A (Punch), B (Kick), and C (Run) buttons. To initiate a grapple, simply walk directly into your opponent. Once locked up, rapidly mash the action buttons to win the test of strength, then press a directional key along with an action button to execute a slam or throw.
Tips
- Megamoves: Each wrestler has a unique, high-damage Megamove. These can only be executed when your opponent’s health meter is completely empty and flashing red, requiring a specific button combination.
- Outside the Ring: Throwing your opponent out of the ring gives you a tactical advantage. You can grab weapons like chairs or buckets from the ringside area, but make sure to slide back into the ring before the referee’s 10-count.
- Regain Stamina: If you are knocked down and your stamina is low, mash the action buttons repeatedly to get back to your feet before your opponent can attempt a pinfall.
