World Heroes is a 1992 arcade fighting game developed by ADK and published by SNK for the Neo Geo. Players choose from eight distinct martial artists, each loosely inspired by famous historical figures like Hattori Hanzo, Rasputin, and Joan of Arc, to battle across time and determine the strongest warrior in history.

The game features two main modes: a traditional tournament and a Death Match mode where arenas are lined with environmental hazards like fire, spiked walls, and slippery oil. Attack strength is determined by how long you hold the action keys; a quick tap unleashes a light attack, while holding it down delivers a heavier strike.

Tips

• In Death Match mode, positioning is just as important as landing combos. Try to knock or throw your opponent into the stage hazards to deal massive extra damage.
• Since light and heavy attacks share the same buttons, practice the timing of your presses carefully. Quick taps are safer for interrupting opponents, while held heavy attacks should be saved for when they leave themselves wide open.
