World Grand Prix is a Formula One-style racing game developed by Sega and released for the Master System in 1986. Rather than simply trying to finish first against the pack, players compete against the clock in a time-trial format across 12 international tracks, dodging rival cars and roadside hazards to qualify for the next race.
How to Play
Your primary goal is to beat the target time on each course to advance. Between races, the points you earn based on your finishing times can be spent to upgrade your vehicle’s engine, steering, and tires.
- Steer: Left / Right arrows
- Shift Gears: Up / Down arrows
- Accelerate (Button 2): X
- Brake (Button 1): Z
Tips
- Master manual shifting: You only have a two-speed transmission, but dropping into low gear for sharp corners is essential to avoid crashing into billboards.
- Upgrade wisely: Focus on steering and tire upgrades early on. Better handling will save you more time on winding tracks than pure top speed.
