Game description:

Wimbledon Championship Tennis is a 16-bit tennis simulation game developed by SIMS and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis in 1993. Bringing the prestige of grass-court tennis to home consoles, the game offers singles and doubles competition with responsive controls for top-spin shots, slices, and lob shots across exhibition and tournament modes.

How to Play

Select your player and compete on center court in singles or doubles matches. Use directional movement to position your player behind incoming shots, then time swing buttons to dictate ball trajectory and placement across the net.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys: Move player / Aim shot direction
  • Z: Regular Shot / Top-Spin (Button A)
  • X: Slice Shot (Button B)
  • C: Lob Shot (Button C)
  • Enter: Start / Pause
  • Shift: Mode / Select

Tips

  • Volley at the Net: Follow up a deep baseline shot by advancing to the net to quickly volley returns away from your opponent.
  • Lob Aggressive Opponents: Execute lob shots with the C button when your opponent rushes the net to send the ball over their head.
  • Vary Serve Placement: Mix up wide and T-serves to keep opponents off-balance during service games.
