Game description:

Wild Snake is a unique falling-block puzzle game that was released for the Super Nintendo and Game Boy in 1994, but its Sega Genesis port was famously cancelled. This playable prototype allows you to experience the unreleased Genesis version. Instead of standard geometric shapes, you guide different species of snakes as they fall into the playfield. The goal is to match snakes of the same pattern and color to make them disappear before the grid fills up.

How to Play

Guide the falling snakes into the grid, trying to match them with other snakes of the same type. When snakes of identical patterns touch, they disappear. Be careful, as snakes can slither over uneven terrain and settle into gaps.

  • D-pad (Arrow Keys): Move the falling snake left or right.
  • A / B / C (Z / X / C): Rotate the snake’s orientation or swap its ends.
  • Start (Enter): Pause the game or confirm selections.

Tips

  • Plan your stacks: Because snakes slither down and fill empty spaces instead of resting rigidly on top of blocks, you can create cascading combos by setting up chain reactions.
  • Watch the upcoming snake: Always keep an eye on the preview window to know which snake is falling next so you can prepare your matches.
