Game description:

Warlock is a 1994 side-scrolling action-adventure for the Sega Genesis, developed by Realtime Associates and published by LJN, based on the 1993 film Warlock: The Armageddon. You play a druid warrior racing across different times and places to gather six ancient runestones before the Warlock — the mortal son of Satan — can collect them himself and summon his father into the world.

How to Play

Move with the arrow keys, and use the action buttons to fire magic projectiles, cast spells, and jump. Along the way you’ll pick up healing potions and protective spells, including a full-restore revival spell, to help you survive each level’s enemies. Warlock rewards a slow, methodical approach over rushing in: attack animations can’t be skipped, so queuing up too many commands at once just means the later ones get dropped.

Tips

  • Save your revival and healing spells rather than using them the moment you’re hurt — later levels hit harder, so keep a reserve for emergencies.
  • Let your attack and spell animations finish before pressing another button; spamming inputs wastes button presses instead of speeding you up.
