Game description:

Ultraman for the Sega Genesis is a 1-on-1 fighting game released in 1993 by Ma-Ba. Based on the classic 1967 tokusatsu television series, the game pits you as the iconic hero against a gauntlet of famous kaiju. Rather than a standard arcade fighter, it demands a specific strategy to secure a victory.

How to Play

Unlike traditional fighting games, you cannot win simply by draining your opponent’s health bar. You must deplete the monster’s energy gauge until the word “FINISH” appears, then successfully hit them with your level four Specium Ray. Standard Genesis controls apply: B to punch, A to kick, and C to jump, which can be mapped to your keyboard or controller in the browser. You have a strict three-minute time limit for each battle.

Tips

  • Manage Your Energy: Your special move gauge builds up slowly over time. Do not waste it on lower-level attacks; you need it fully charged at level four (L4) to trigger the finishing Specium Ray.
  • Keep the Pressure On: Once a kaiju’s health is depleted, it will begin to regenerate if you do not hit them with your finishing move quickly. Stay close and be ready to fire.
