Uchuu Senkan Gomora (known as Bio-Ship Paladin in arcades) is a distinct horizontal scrolling shooter released by UPL for the Sega Mega Drive in 1991. Instead of simply firing forward, you pilot a growing biological ship equipped with a manual targeting crosshair. This allows you to fire explosive blasts anywhere on the screen independently of your ship’s movement, letting you intercept incoming projectiles or pinpoint weak spots on larger bosses.

How to play

Your objective is to pilot your bioship through alien environments, using both your standard forward weapons and your manual crosshair to survive. For the Sega Genesis in the browser, use the Arrow Keys to move your ship and maneuver the crosshair. Use the Z, X, and C keys (mapped to A, B, and C) to fire your main weapons and trigger the crosshair blasts. Press Enter to Start.

Tips

• Defense is as important as offense: Use your crosshair blasts to intercept and destroy incoming enemy projectiles before they reach you.
• Manage your attention: Moving the ship and aiming the crosshair simultaneously can be tricky; prioritize dodging with the ship while letting the crosshair handle threats from above or below.
