Tyrants – Fight through Time is a pioneering real-time strategy and god game brought to the Sega Genesis in 1992 by Virgin Games. Originally released as Mega-Lo-Mania on home computers, this ambitious title puts you in the role of a deity guiding a civilization from the Stone Age through the futuristic final epoch. You must manage a growing population, assigning followers to harvest raw materials, research new technology, and manufacture advanced weapons before your rival gods can wipe you off the map.
How to Play
Your objective is to defeat all rival factions on each island to conquer the map and progress through the epochs. You achieve this by assigning your population to various tasks: gathering resources, inventing new technology, building weapons, or forming an army to attack enemy castles. You can play directly in your browser using standard Genesis controls: use the Arrow Keys to move your cursor across the map and menus, Z to select or confirm actions, X to cancel, and Enter to pause or start.
Tips
- Prioritise research: Always have followers assigned to invent in your castle. Being the first to unlock stronger weapons gives you a massive advantage over more primitive foes.
- Manage your sectors: Once you have depleted a sector of its resources or built what you need, recall your men to free up your population for combat or factory work.
- Defend your castle: Always leave some men equipped with defensive weapons inside your castle to fend off sudden enemy raids.
