Tumble Pop World (often known simply as Tumblepop) is a classic 1991 arcade platformer developed by Data East. Players take on the role of ghost catchers tasked with clearing various stages around the globe. Armed with a specialized vacuum cleaner, your goal is to suck up monsters, ghosts, and aliens, and then shoot them back out to defeat other enemies on the screen. The game features fast-paced, screen-clearing action heavily inspired by genre staples like Snow Bros and Bubble Bobble.

How to Play

Use the joystick or directional keys to navigate the platforms. Press the primary action button to suck enemies into your vacuum, and release it to launch them as a rolling projectile. Launching an enemy ball into other creatures will turn them into collectible items and score points. Clear all enemies on the screen to proceed to the next stage. As an arcade title, you will need to insert virtual coins (usually mapped to Select or 5) and press Start (usually 1 or Enter) to begin playing.

Tips

• Try to suck up multiple enemies into your vacuum at once; the larger the bundle you launch, the more collateral damage you will cause when it rolls.
• Be careful not to hold an enemy inside the vacuum for too long without launching it, or your vacuum will overload and explode, costing you a life.
• Pay attention to the letters that drop from defeated enemies; collecting the letters to spell “TUMBLEPOP” will instantly transport you to a special bonus stage.
