Game description:

Top Pro Golf 2 is the Japanese release of the 1993 golf simulation known in North America as Chi Chi’s Pro Challenge Golf, developed for the Sega Genesis by Coconuts Japan Entertainment. Rather than relying on the standard triple-click swing method common to the 16-bit era, the game challenges players with a unique system that requires setting power and carefully determining the point of impact via crosshairs. You can hit the links in traditional Match Play and Stroke Play modes, or tackle the Virgin Cup tournament against a full field of computer-controlled opponents.

How to Play

The objective is to read the course conditions and sink your ball in as few strokes as possible. The Sega Genesis controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to aim your shot, select clubs, and adjust your stance. Press Z or X (A/B buttons) to confirm your selections and execute your swing, and press Enter (Start) to navigate the menus.

Tips

  • Master the Crosshair: Since the game skips the standard timing bar for impact, pay close attention to where you place the crosshair on the ball to control your spin and trajectory.
  • Mind the Wind: Always check the wind indicator before finalizing your club and direction, as it dramatically alters your ball’s flight path on longer drives.
