Top Gun is a classic air combat simulator developed by Konami for the NES in 1987, loosely based on the hit movie. Stepping into the flight suit of Maverick, you pilot an F-14 Tomcat through a series of intense, first-person dogfighting missions against enemy aircraft and ground targets.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive each mission's combat zone and successfully land your fighter jet on an aircraft carrier. In the browser, use the Arrow Keys to pilot your jet, press X (A button) to fire your lock-on missiles, and press Z (B button) to fire your machine gun. Press Enter to start or pause the game.
Tips
- Master the landing: The notorious aircraft carrier landing sequences require precise timing. Watch the dashboard instructions carefully (“Speed Up!”, “Up!”, “Down!”) and adjust your altitude and speed to match.
- Conserve your missiles: You have a limited supply of lock-on missiles for each mission. Save them for the most dangerous enemy fighters and heavily armored targets, relying on your machine gun for standard dogfighting.
