Top Gear 2 is a 1993 arcade racing game developed by Gremlin Interactive for the SNES. A sequel to the hit original, it takes players across 64 tracks in 16 countries, introducing weather conditions, car damage, and a detailed vehicle upgrade system. The racing remains fast-paced and challenging, demanding sharp reflexes to finish in the prize money and advance to the next region.
How to play
Your objective is to finish in the top 10 to qualify for the next race. You will earn money based on your position to upgrade your engine, tires, armor, and nitrous oxide. Use the arrow keys to steer. Accelerate, brake, and trigger your nitrous oxide boosts using the main action buttons (Z, X, A, and S). Keep an eye on your fuel gauge and damage meterโtaking too many hits or running out of fuel will end your race early. Press Enter to pause.
Tips
- Save your nitrous boosts for the final lap or long straightaways to overtake opponents when it matters most.
- Collect the money tokens scattered on the track; upgrading your engine and tires early is essential for keeping up in later races.
- In the split-screen two-player mode, players can share money between races if one player is falling behind and risks not qualifying.
