Game description:

Todd’s Adventures in Slime World is an ambitious side-scrolling exploration game originally released for the Atari Lynx and brought to the Sega Genesis in 1991. You control Todd, armed with a water pistol, as he navigates a massive, interconnected alien cavern system made almost entirely of slime. The game stands out for its varied modes of play, offering different maps and objectives ranging from straightforward exploration and escape to intense action scenarios.

How to play

Your goal varies depending on the chosen mode, but generally involves surviving the hostile slime creatures, managing your limited supply of clean water to wash off acidic slime, and finding the exit. The default Sega Genesis controls in the browser map the D-pad to the arrow keys to move and aim, A (Z key) to jump, B (X key) to shoot your water pistol, and C (C key) to use items or interact.

Tips

  • Always keep an eye on your slime meter; if you get too covered in acidic red slime, wash it off quickly in a pool of water or use a cleansing item.
  • Explore carefully to find hidden paths and power-ups like the mega-bomb and jetpack, which are crucial for bypassing difficult areas.
