Tinhead is an action platformer originally developed by MicroProse in 1994. While the game saw an official release on other consoles, the Super Nintendo (SNES) version was cancelled before launch. Fortunately, a nearly complete prototype was preserved, allowing players to experience this challenging sci-fi adventure. You control Tinhead, a mechanical hero equipped with a unique head-mounted blaster, on a mission to rescue stolen stars from the villainous Grim Squidge.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate through various cosmic stages, defeating robotic enemies and avoiding hazards to reach the end of each level. A key feature of the game is Tinhead’s multi-directional shooting capability, which allows you to aim your blaster in different directions.
- Arrow Keys: Move Tinhead / Aim
- Z or X: Jump
- A or S: Shoot
- Enter: Start / Pause
- Shift: Select
Tips
- Master the Aim: Take advantage of the ability to shoot diagonally and upwards. Many enemies are placed in tricky spots that require precise aiming before they can hit you.
- Watch Your Step: The platforming can be quite demanding. Take your time to observe enemy patrol patterns and moving platforms before making a difficult jump.
- Collect Power-ups: Keep an eye out for weapon upgrades scattered throughout the levels. Upgrading your blaster is essential for dealing with tougher enemies later in the game.
