Thunder Blade is a 1988 helicopter shoot-’em-up developed by Sega for the Master System. Based on the popular arcade game, it puts you at the controls of an advanced attack chopper on a mission to destroy an enemy armada. The action alternates between top-down vertical scrolling stages and behind-the-back pseudo-3D segments, testing your reflexes as you dodge incoming fire and take down tanks, fighter jets, and massive boss vehicles.
How to play
Your objective is to clear each stage of enemy forces and defeat the boss at the end. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to maneuver the Thunder Blade helicopter. Press Button 1 (Z) to fire your Vulcan cannons at airborne targets, and Button 2 (X) to drop missiles on ground-based enemies.
Tips
Keep moving constantly during the pseudo-3D segments, as enemy fire comes in fast and can overwhelm you if you stay in one spot. Pay close attention to the shadows of airborne enemies to judge their position and align your Vulcan cannon shots effectively.
